This chef salad takes inspiration from the classic muffuletta sandwich, combining Italian meats, provolone, pepperoncini, and Divina Muffuletta Olive Salad in one hearty bowl.
INGREDIENTS
1 head romaine or butter lettuce, chopped
2 oz ham
2 oz salami
2 oz mortadella
2 oz provolone
1/4 c Divina Muffuletta Olive Salad, brine drained and reserved
1/4 c Divina Pepperoncini, sliced
1/2 loaf Italian bread, roughly cubed into large crouton pieces
Olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Toss the bread cubes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until crisp. Set aside.
- While the croutons bake, dice the ham, salami, mortadella, and provolone into bite-size pieces.
- Combine the lettuce, meats, cheese, Muffuletta Olive Salad, pepperoncini, and croutons in a large bowl.
- Dress the salad with the reserved Muffuletta Olive Salad brine and additional olive oil, to taste. Toss, divide into bowls, and serve.
